Our Evening Routine

Hey everyone!
So last week was our morning routine, this week is our evening routine!
I will go from after school pick up because, like our morning routine, our evenings do tend to go fast as well.

So after school, they have a small snack like a few Shapes biccies or some yoghurt or cheese depending on whether they had any dairy snacks in their lunch boxes that day.
I do try to cook dinner or at least prep it (chop veggies etc.) before I go get the kids from school to make it easier on us during homework time.

The kids have a bit of a run around after they eat to burn some energy off before they get their homework out. We have a fairly big backyard so there is plenty of space for them all to play. A favourite game of theirs lately, is Ninja Warrior. So they use things like the trees and the swing set and the trampoline and most important, their imaginations.

After they have had about 15 to 20 minutes outside, they come in, have a drink of water and get their homework done. For some of them this is something they just get done and have no issue. Either me or my mum is there all the time to help when needed so they can always yell out for help.

While homework is being completed I am either having a coffee (mumma needs one at this point to get her through the next couple of hours ;)) or making dinner if it has not already been prepped. Then for me it is off to pick up my hubby from work. Like I said last week, we are a one car family and this is just something that we have to do.

By the time I get back from picking him up, homework is done, dinner is almost ready and the kiddos just want Mumma so cuddles it is! Then dinner is dished out and eaten, kids have their showers, and get their uniforms out for the following day. Books are read, teeth are brushed and then they are in bed. They may not go to sleep right then, but they are in their rooms and hopefully being quiet.

By this time, it is around 7 - 7:30pm and (providing I am not at a church meeting) I get to sit down and relax for a bit. I am usually done for the day by this point and hubby and mum clean the kitchen and tidy the lounge room. My hubby makes the sandwiches for lunch as well so that is another thing we don't generally have to worry about in the morning.
Let me know in the comments below what you would like me to blog about next!
Thanks for reading!
Blessings xxx

Organising School Uniforms

Hey Guys! When it comes to storing and sorting the kid's school uniforms, it seems we have FINALLY found what works for us! For those who don't know, we have 4 kiddos and my mum works at the kid's school as well, so her uniforms are also stored with the kid's uniforms.  Right next to my desk in the kid's playroom (pretty much only has Lego in it at the moment) we have a clothes rack. The only things that get put on the rack is school uniforms, shoes, the hair box (this keeps all the brushes, hair ties, head bands, etc. together in one place) and school socks.  So here is an overview of what the uniform rack looks like and then I will talk about the sections. We'll talk about hanging the uniforms first! Each person has their own colour coat hanger to make it easier for them to recognise which uniforms are theirs.  BB has pink. Knox has blue. TJ has purple. Liss has white.  Mum has black.  Yes, they are all mixed up at ...

Day in the life

Hey Everyone! As a busy mum of 4, I am pretty much on the go all day. So I just thought, maybe, I would share what one day is like for me. Before I get out of bed in the morning, I like to read one chapter in Proverbs. Proverbs is such a good way of making sure I am reading God's Word daily because it has 31 chapters - a chapter for each day of the month. This way, while I am going through my morning routine, I have something godly running through my brain instead of the chaos of whatever I have on that day.  Next up is coffee... after making sure my teenage son is up and getting ready for the day. I am super lucky because my Mum also lives with us and she gets up a little bit before me and has my coffee ready and waiting for me! While I drink my coffee, the news is generally on in the background. Because my kids are all older, pretty much all I have to do is make sure they are waking up when they are supposed to. Although, one of my children needs a bit more support in getting rea...

My Top 10 Cookbooks!

Hey Guys! You all know I am a mumma of a large family, so I kinda have to have a few favourite cookbooks, right? I do have quite a few cookbooks and websites that I pull from when I am meal planning, particularly when I get stuck with making the same meals over and over (it happens... I am far from perfect guys...).  Some of these are for thermomix recipes specifically, (my goal for the year is to use my thermomix more) while others are just general cookbooks. So lets get into it! 1. Thermomix Every Day Cookbook. This is the cookbook you get with your Thermomix and it has basic recipes and hints and tips to get used to your thermomix. My mum's favourite recipe in this is the custard.  2. Mamabake Cookbook. This is the cookbook I reach for when I have a lot of busy days where I will not have time to cook. There is a lot of slowcooker dump recipes in there that my family love and don't break the budget. 3. Once a Month Cooking by the Stay at Home...
