December Favourites!

Hey Guys!

Wow!
Have we had a massive December or what?!

This December for us as a family has been huge! Early December saw us taking a fantastic and much needed holiday to visit family for a couple of weeks, so that is our number 1 favourite of December!
The kids and us had a blast going to theme parks, taking a ride on my brother's boat on the river, the beach was amazing and generally just hanging out and spending time with family we don't get to see very often.

December favourite number 2 was our doTerra Touch rollers. We took the kids kit on holidays with us and I just put some others in with it that we use regularly.
Here are the rollers we took:
Lavender touch (great for mozzie bites and sleeping babes)
Peppermint touch (headaches don't stand a chance)
Tea Tree touch (in case of sickness)
Adaptiv touch (anxiety sucks, this makes me feel better)
Tamer (kids line - helps with tummy issues)
Calmer (my niece loved putting this on her feet at bedtime)
Stronger (we put this on kiddo's feet before we went out)
Brave (kids on roller coasters for the first time)
Rescuer (long days walking around theme parks)
Steady
Thinker

The last two we never had to use on holidays but we took the whole kit anyway.

December favourite number 3: I only had this for the last few days in December because it was a Christmas present, but I have been LOVING the Cheeki brand stainless steel tumbler. I have made an iced coffee syrup (which has also been a favourite of all the adults in the house) almost every day and the tumbler keeps it cold for hours. I am one of those people who take their time drinking things like iced beverages so this is perfect for me!

December favourite number 4 was my camera! A couple of months ago I got the Canon EOS 3000D which is a base line starter DSLR camera. I have taken some time to do a simple online course on how to get out of Auto mode on the camera and this month I have had some fun taking some snaps and learning how to use the camera in Manual mode.

Here are a couple of pictures taken with my Canon EOS 3000D:

These are my December Favourites!
Let me know what things have been your favourite in the last month of 2019!

Thanks for reading!

Organising School Uniforms

Hey Guys! When it comes to storing and sorting the kid's school uniforms, it seems we have FINALLY found what works for us! For those who don't know, we have 4 kiddos and my mum works at the kid's school as well, so her uniforms are also stored with the kid's uniforms.  Right next to my desk in the kid's playroom (pretty much only has Lego in it at the moment) we have a clothes rack. The only things that get put on the rack is school uniforms, shoes, the hair box (this keeps all the brushes, hair ties, head bands, etc. together in one place) and school socks.  So here is an overview of what the uniform rack looks like and then I will talk about the sections. We'll talk about hanging the uniforms first! Each person has their own colour coat hanger to make it easier for them to recognise which uniforms are theirs.  BB has pink. Knox has blue. TJ has purple. Liss has white.  Mum has black.  Yes, they are all mixed up at ...

Our Family Morning Routine

So, since this is the very first blog post, I thought we could start with our regular school term morning routine.  Our Morning Routine Our mornings get really busy and tend to go real fast due to the fact that we are a one car family and I have to take my husband to work every day. We are fortunate in that we also live with my mum so I do not have to get all the kids up and bring them with me.  So my day starts at 6am, when my alarm goes off and I keep pressing the snooze button until 6:30am mainly due to the fact that I am NOT a morning person. As soon as I do get up it is time to wake up the babies! First up, my 8 year old son. He usually wakes up pretty easily and I don't have to keep going back to get him out of bed. He is also the one who, when he feels helpful, gets the bowls out for breakfast along with the cereal.  Next is my 7 year old daughter. She can be a little tough to get up some mornings, but generally speaking she gets up within a few minutes of ...

Our Evening Routine

Hey everyone! So last week was our morning routine, this week is our evening routine! I will go from after school pick up because, like our morning routine, our evenings do tend to go fast as well. So after school, they have a small snack like a few Shapes biccies or some yoghurt or cheese depending on whether they had any dairy snacks in their lunch boxes that day. I do try to cook dinner or at least prep it (chop veggies etc.) before I go get the kids from school to make it easier on us during homework time. The kids have a bit of a run around after they eat to burn some energy off before they get their homework out. We have a fairly big backyard so there is plenty of space for them all to play. A favourite game of theirs lately, is Ninja Warrior. So they use things like the trees and the swing set and the trampoline and most important, their imaginations. After they have had about 15 to 20 minutes outside, they come in, have a drink of water and get their homework done. For...
