Time to Declutter!

Hey Everyone!

Some may know that about a year and a half ago, we moved our family of 7 into a much smaller house. A lot of decluttering happened at that point, and then again at the beginning of this year we cleaned out the garage which had been choc full of boxes. This was only meant to be a temporary house while we looked for a bigger house that suits our needs more. This has not happened and we are pretty happy with where we are now.  However, once again we have found ourselves dealing with a bunch of clutter. I don't exactly feel like my best self when there is a lot of clutter around me which makes it hard to keep things clean and tidy.

So here is my idea: Decluttering one area every weekday and posting it on here, not only to keep me accountable, but also for you to follow along at home!

I don't particularly want to have a set area to delutter every day as this will not go well with my ADHD, so the plan is to pick one SMALL area per day. This could be one drawer in the dresser, one shelf on a bookshelf, one cupboard shelf in the kitchen etc. It could also be cleaning out your email account of old emails. I have done this today with an old email account of mine that had THOUSANDS of unread emails. I only use this email for one or two things so I am about to change the email address for those things and delete the email altogether.

I have recently created an Instagram account for the blog, so head on over to IG @myraisinfamily and share in the decluttering fun!

Organising School Uniforms

Hey Guys! When it comes to storing and sorting the kid's school uniforms, it seems we have FINALLY found what works for us! For those who don't know, we have 4 kiddos and my mum works at the kid's school as well, so her uniforms are also stored with the kid's uniforms.  Right next to my desk in the kid's playroom (pretty much only has Lego in it at the moment) we have a clothes rack. The only things that get put on the rack is school uniforms, shoes, the hair box (this keeps all the brushes, hair ties, head bands, etc. together in one place) and school socks.  So here is an overview of what the uniform rack looks like and then I will talk about the sections. We'll talk about hanging the uniforms first! Each person has their own colour coat hanger to make it easier for them to recognise which uniforms are theirs.  BB has pink. Knox has blue. TJ has purple. Liss has white.  Mum has black.  Yes, they are all mixed up at ...

Back into Monthly Meal Planning!

Hey guys!!! I am so happy to announce that I am getting back into the swing of things in regards to monthly meal planning! I have implemented a tip I have heard a hundred times over and decided to put certain types of meals on certain days. So Sunday for me is Something New Sunday and I am not making any plans for that, just if we find a recipe we want to try out that month, Sunday is the day to do that. I am also keeping Fridays as Noodle and or pasta because that is what works for my family. Our Fridays have become even more busy now that my daughter has gymnastics on from 3.30 - 5.30pm.  So here is the basic lay out for the week. Something new Sunday Mince Monday Chicken Tuesday Pizza Wednesday Fish Thursday Noodles/Pasta Friday Something Simple Saturday So I will continue to share just the menu plan for a week in order to keep Meal Plan Monday going. So this week (Sunday 5th - Saturday 11th) is: Sunday: Pizza (last minute decision to go to c...

Taking a stab at FREEZER COOKING!

Hey Guys! One of my favourite things to watch on YouTube is (obviously) meal planning and freezer cooking videos. I love these videos because they give me inspiration in the kitchen... and without it, I tend to do the same set of meals over and over. I'm not sure why I have not been able to get into the routine of doing freezer meals on a regular basis, however this time around, it has been relatively simple and no pressure. One of my favourite YouTubers to watch on the topic of freezer cooking is Jamerill's Large Family Table . She has put together a few packs with a bunch of large family style freezer cooking meals and they are amazing! Check it out by following the link to her YouTube channel and she has the link on her page. Some of the recipes I have been able to make for the freezer meals include: Banana Bread (3 loaves) Slow Cooker Chicken Parmesan (can't wait to try this on the weekend) Slow Cooker Broccoli and Beef (this was a big winner with the kids -...
