Day In The Life - Feb 2026

 Hey Everyone!


Last week I posted a Day in The Life over on my Instagram (@myraisinfamily) and I thought I would post it over here too!

This was a very busy Thursday as they usually are for us with 3 of our 4 teens/young adults now working.

But as usual, I start my day with Jesus and coffee...








I have been going through The Bible Recap, which I do recommend using the Bible App, simply because it reads you the passage and you watch a video with the recap. I have found it so much easier to make sure I get God's Word in first thing in the morning. But this day, I chose to read it with my good old paper Bible. 








After I read my Bible, I sat outside and finished my coffee for a bit while admiring the view. It was raining that day but it was still a beautiful day. As you can see in the photo, there was a little bit of blue sky poking through the clouds but that did not last long.
   As you might know, we homeschool our youngest daughter and it was time to print out some more of her maths lessons so that was next up on the list and getting her started on her schoolwork. She is mostly independant with her schoolwork now which is amazing progress! So while she got on to her schoolwork, I got on to preparing dinner which was homemade pizza pockets and ceaser salad. 










I have a thermomix which makes making homemade things so much easier! See the picture at the end to see what this dough turned out like!










This was a great day for me, because I got to meet up with a friend for coffee! This picture was what I get up to waiting in the car. She was a little late, so I read a book while I waited. The book I was reading was the first book in a series from Mary Henderson - Love by Design (available on Amazon). I am reading this one first before I get sent the second book I am doing an ARC read for. Spoiler alert! They were both AMAZING and I highly recommend all of her books!













Catching up with my friend was fantastic and just what I needed after a stressful few weeks. I am so thankful for the kind of friends that when we are unable to catch up for so long, we just pick up where we left off. These friendships are what we hold onto in those hard moments. 



After that, there was more waiting for a kiddo to finish work, another one to drop off at work, school pick up and what do you know... another work drop off!








This was when I was waiting for my youngest to finish work. She works as a gymnastics coach at a local centre and surprise, surprise, I am reading again. Reading is something I love to do and have plenty of time to read while waiting for the kiddos. 



After this it is home for dinner!












The pizza pockets turned out amazing and very popular with the whole family and we have made them again since then!












Last but not least, one more work pick up. My son finished late this night but it was all good... I had my Kindle!




That's all for this Day In The Life! I am going to be doing one of these every few weeks whenever I get a half interesting day.

Organising School Uniforms

Hey Guys! When it comes to storing and sorting the kid's school uniforms, it seems we have FINALLY found what works for us! For those who don't know, we have 4 kiddos and my mum works at the kid's school as well, so her uniforms are also stored with the kid's uniforms.  Right next to my desk in the kid's playroom (pretty much only has Lego in it at the moment) we have a clothes rack. The only things that get put on the rack is school uniforms, shoes, the hair box (this keeps all the brushes, hair ties, head bands, etc. together in one place) and school socks.  So here is an overview of what the uniform rack looks like and then I will talk about the sections. Back into Monthly Meal Planning!

Hey guys!!! I am so happy to announce that I am getting back into the swing of things in regards to monthly meal planning! I have implemented a tip I have heard a hundred times over and decided to put certain types of meals on certain days. So Sunday for me is Something New Sunday and I am not making any plans for that, just if we find a recipe we want to try out that month, Sunday is the day to do that. I am also keeping Fridays as Noodle and or pasta because that is what works for my family. Our Fridays have become even more busy now that my daughter has gymnastics on from 3.30 - 5.30pm.  So here is the basic lay out for the week. Something new Sunday Mince Monday Chicken Tuesday Pizza Wednesday Fish Thursday Noodles/Pasta Friday Something Simple Saturday So I will continue to share just the menu plan for a week in order to keep Meal Plan Monday going. Taking a stab at FREEZER COOKING!

Hey Guys! One of my favourite things to watch on YouTube is (obviously) meal planning and freezer cooking videos. I love these videos because they give me inspiration in the kitchen... and without it, I tend to do the same set of meals over and over. I'm not sure why I have not been able to get into the routine of doing freezer meals on a regular basis, however this time around, it has been relatively simple and no pressure. One of my favourite YouTubers to watch on the topic of freezer cooking is Jamerill's Large Family Table . She has put together a few packs with a bunch of large family style freezer cooking meals and they are amazing!
