Monthly Meal Plan - May

Hey Guys!

So sorry this is so late...

We have had a massive May so far, with birthdays, appointments, etc and I have been sick and meetings for various things so I will endeavour to have June's meal plan set and ready to go for you before June 1st.

As we have had such a massive month so far, I have just been meal planning a week at a time.

So here it is:

Tuesday 1st:         Takeaway Pizza (bad I know but that was one of our busiest days with multiple appointments so I needed something simple)

Wednesday 2nd:       Savoury mince

Thursday 3rd:        Sausages and Vegetables (mashed potato, peas, carrots, broccoli and cauliflower)

Friday 4th:           Pasta/Noodles (we have kids activities every Friday night, so this is the same every week and is chosen by the kids)

Saturday 5th:       Fish Fingers and hot chips

Sunday 6th:        Steak sandwich (sounds simple but sooo good and filled with veg as well)

Monday 7th:       Butter chicken and rice

Tuesday 8th:       Tacos (the kids had begged me for Taco Tuesday...)

Wednesday 9th:     Sausages, chips and scrambled eggs

Thursday 10th:        Spaghetti bolognese

Friday 11th:        Pasta/Noodles

Saturday 12th:      Pies and sausage rolls with corn on the cob and carrot sticks

Sunday 13th:      BBQ Chicken and veg (mashed potato, peas and carrots)

Monday 14th:     Savoury mince and pasta

Tuesday 15th:     Homemade Pizza

Wednesday 16th:     Fish, chips, carrots and peas

Thursday 17th:     Sushi and Maccas (this is one of our kiddos birthdays and the birthday person gets to choose what we have for dinner - this is what she chose)

Friday 18th:     Pasta/Noodles

Saturday 19th:    Help Yourself Night (sometimes these days are needed for one's sanity...)

Sunday 20th:      Steak and Cheese Loaded Fries

Monday 21st:     Savoury Mince

Tuesday 22nd:    Chicken and Corn Soup

Wednesday 23rd:     Homemade Pizza

Thursday 24th:     Beef Brisket Ragu (new recipe I cannot wait to try!)

Friday 25th:     Pasta/Noodles

Saturday 26th:    Spring rolls and fried rice

Sunday 27th:    My Mum likes to cook something new on Sunday nights, she chooses what to cook on a Saturday and shops for the ingredients herself. We are all enjoying whatever she makes and I am very appreciative.

Monday 28th:        Fish, Four Cheeses Pasta and Peas and Carrots

Tuesday 29th:      Lasagne, chips and salad

Wednesday 30th:      Chicken tenders and veg (regular mashed potatoes, peas and carrots)

Thursday 31st:      Sticky sausages and veg (see above)

So there it is!
Keep in mind that I sneak veggies into almost everything that I make so even if it does not look like we are eating a ton of veg, we really are (shhh... don't tell the kids!)

I hope this inspires you guys in some way and have a nice day!

Organising School Uniforms

Hey Guys! When it comes to storing and sorting the kid's school uniforms, it seems we have FINALLY found what works for us! For those who don't know, we have 4 kiddos and my mum works at the kid's school as well, so her uniforms are also stored with the kid's uniforms.  Right next to my desk in the kid's playroom (pretty much only has Lego in it at the moment) we have a clothes rack. The only things that get put on the rack is school uniforms, shoes, the hair box (this keeps all the brushes, hair ties, head bands, etc. together in one place) and school socks.  So here is an overview of what the uniform rack looks like and then I will talk about the sections. We'll talk about hanging the uniforms first! Each person has their own colour coat hanger to make it easier for them to recognise which uniforms are theirs.  BB has pink. Knox has blue. TJ has purple. Liss has white.  Mum has black.  Yes, they are all mixed up at

5 Quick and Easy Gluten Free School Snacks

Hey Everyone! As some people may know, our youngest daughter has been diagnosed with something called PANDAS syndrome. This means that in order to help her with some of the issues stemming from this syndrome, she has had to eliminate Gluten from her diet. It has taken a lot of trial and error to try and find some gluten free things she likes, but here are some of her favourites to pack in her lunch box for school! 1. Popcorn. We try to just make the air popped popcorn in the mornings, that way it is fresh for the day. But sometimes it is well worth the $3 for the Woolies homebrand popcorn that comes in packets. They also have the sweet and salty flavour that is always a hit in our house. 2. Mini pancake muffin bites. These are super easy to make and don't take long. Our daughter loves the Coles home brand I'm Free From Gluten range, so we just buy the pancake shaker bottle in that brand and pour them into a mini muffin pan. We add things like blueberries, chocolate chips etc to

A little update...

Hey Guys! Just wanted to jump on real quick and let you know what is coming up on the blog! We have our Large Family Laundry Routine coming up next and then a monthly meal plan for May after that. If you are enjoying reading our blog, thank you! My aim is to get at least 2-3 posts out a month at this point as we have a lot of appointments and possibly a surgery for my daughter. We also have a couple of birthdays in May so I might put up a Birthday blog as well! Thank you for being patient with me through this, and I hope you all have a great day! Much Love, Jacqui!
