NEW! Meal Plan Monday is back!!!

Hey guys!

It's been a while so I thought I would give Meal Plan Monday another go!
This time I will go through breakfasts, snacks and lunches and why we meal plan this way now.

So here it is!

Here is this week's meal plan (check out Large Family Table to find the meal planner).

I don't have Morning Tea on there because it is ALWAYS fruit and everyone knows to choose a piece of fruit.

I also have for most lunches Make Your Own Sandwich. I don't make the kid's lunches, they do. There is always a variety of fillings/spreads available and quite frankly, I am not a slave. I have a LOT of other things to be doing at that time so they (with supervision) make it themselves. It also works better for them to make it, so that they take ownership and eat what they put in their lunch boxes.
It is not quite summer here (where I am we have about 3 weeks of "winter" and the rest of the year is just hot and muggy), so afternoon tea consists of icy poles a few days out of the week. Otherwise it is all fairly healthy snacks.
I have found with breakfast cereals, if I do not specify the cereal for the day, they all eat the same thing until it's gone and want me to rush out and buy more. My answer: nuh uh... This way, they get a variety of cereals and I can make sure they have something like Weetbix on a particularly busy day.
Dinners are planned around activities we have going on during the week. Tuesday's my son has Futsal games late afternoon so either something quick has to be made for dinner or a slow cooker meal. I have a rehearsal for my church worship team on Wednesday nights, so something that one of the other adults in the house can cook, or I prepare parts of the meal earlier on in the day. As usual, Friday nights are always noodles or pasta because the kiddos have an activity that takes them out until after 8:30pm.
I also work around what we have on hand most of the time. We still have a few freezer meals from over a month ago that need to be used up, so there are a couple of those in there as well.

So there is our meal plan for this week.

Thanks for reading!

Organising School Uniforms

Hey Guys! When it comes to storing and sorting the kid's school uniforms, it seems we have FINALLY found what works for us! For those who don't know, we have 4 kiddos and my mum works at the kid's school as well, so her uniforms are also stored with the kid's uniforms.  Right next to my desk in the kid's playroom (pretty much only has Lego in it at the moment) we have a clothes rack. The only things that get put on the rack is school uniforms, shoes, the hair box (this keeps all the brushes, hair ties, head bands, etc. together in one place) and school socks.  So here is an overview of what the uniform rack looks like and then I will talk about the sections. We'll talk about hanging the uniforms first! Each person has their own colour coat hanger to make it easier for them to recognise which uniforms are theirs.  BB has pink. Knox has blue. TJ has purple. Liss has white.  Mum has black.  Yes, they are all mixed up at ...

Day in the life

Hey Everyone! As a busy mum of 4, I am pretty much on the go all day. So I just thought, maybe, I would share what one day is like for me. Before I get out of bed in the morning, I like to read one chapter in Proverbs. Proverbs is such a good way of making sure I am reading God's Word daily because it has 31 chapters - a chapter for each day of the month. This way, while I am going through my morning routine, I have something godly running through my brain instead of the chaos of whatever I have on that day.  Next up is coffee... after making sure my teenage son is up and getting ready for the day. I am super lucky because my Mum also lives with us and she gets up a little bit before me and has my coffee ready and waiting for me! While I drink my coffee, the news is generally on in the background. Because my kids are all older, pretty much all I have to do is make sure they are waking up when they are supposed to. Although, one of my children needs a bit more support in getting rea...

My Top 10 Cookbooks!

Hey Guys! You all know I am a mumma of a large family, so I kinda have to have a few favourite cookbooks, right? I do have quite a few cookbooks and websites that I pull from when I am meal planning, particularly when I get stuck with making the same meals over and over (it happens... I am far from perfect guys...).  Some of these are for thermomix recipes specifically, (my goal for the year is to use my thermomix more) while others are just general cookbooks. So lets get into it! 1. Thermomix Every Day Cookbook. This is the cookbook you get with your Thermomix and it has basic recipes and hints and tips to get used to your thermomix. My mum's favourite recipe in this is the custard.  2. Mamabake Cookbook. This is the cookbook I reach for when I have a lot of busy days where I will not have time to cook. There is a lot of slowcooker dump recipes in there that my family love and don't break the budget. 3. Once a Month Cooking by the Stay at Home...
