June Favourites!

Hey Guys!

I have heard of a lot of vloggers that do this Monthly Favourites video, so I thought I would do a bloggers version!

I will show you my favourite items in the areas of: Organisation, Kids, Books, YouTube creators, In the Kitchen, and more!

Let's get right into it, shall we?

I have been loving cooking in my Thermomix this month and one website I have been loving is The Road To Loving My Thermo Mixer. I have gotten so many recipes for lunch box snacks, dinners, soaps and more from this website for a long time. The recipes are quick and easy and are a simple and healthier version of the store-brought varieties. The kids love most of the recipes I have made and even help out with them!

The winner in the Organisation category are these pantry containers! I LOVE these! I keep this one filled with snacks for school lunches and it is so easy for the kids to pull out of the pantry to grab one snack from the front two bins when they make their lunches (We keep Hubby's muesli bars in the 3rd as they have peanuts and we are a nut free school). We have a bigger container as well as a smaller one that we use for baking stuff, packets of noodles, etc. The pantry has stayed organised for longer with these bins so I am one happy mumma!

A book I have been loving this month is not just one book but several, ok most of the books by Francine Rivers. So far this month I have read (and loved) Atonement Child, The Scarlet Thread, Redeeming Love and Leota's Garden. Atonement Child has been the one to make me cry the most so I am declaring that one my favourite out of the four so far! I have been reading these on my iPad iBooks app so they have been a fairly cheap alternative to buying the physical book and it is not too heavy to carry around in my handbag to read while I am waiting in the car after school!

I am one of those people who bites my fingernails if I don't have anything on them. So when I found the Sally Hansen Complete Care 7 in 1 I really hoped it would work. It did! My nails have been growing, they look pretty good with a colour on and it is even a top coat as well!

I have been loving watching the Schmovies YouTube channel (when I get time to watch - more often when I am folding laundry). They are a large family with 7 kiddos, they homeschool and are an inspiration to me and our kids! They are all about working together as a family team (and their dining room table is gorgeous!).

So there are some of the things I have been loving over the month of June!
Hope you liked reading this, as I am hoping to do these every month!

Enjoy!

Organising School Uniforms

Hey Guys! When it comes to storing and sorting the kid's school uniforms, it seems we have FINALLY found what works for us! For those who don't know, we have 4 kiddos and my mum works at the kid's school as well, so her uniforms are also stored with the kid's uniforms.  Right next to my desk in the kid's playroom (pretty much only has Lego in it at the moment) we have a clothes rack. The only things that get put on the rack is school uniforms, shoes, the hair box (this keeps all the brushes, hair ties, head bands, etc. together in one place) and school socks.  So here is an overview of what the uniform rack looks like and then I will talk about the sections. We'll talk about hanging the uniforms first! Each person has their own colour coat hanger to make it easier for them to recognise which uniforms are theirs.  BB has pink. Knox has blue. TJ has purple. Liss has white.  Mum has black.  Yes, they are all mixed up at ...

Our Family Morning Routine

So, since this is the very first blog post, I thought we could start with our regular school term morning routine.  Our Morning Routine Our mornings get really busy and tend to go real fast due to the fact that we are a one car family and I have to take my husband to work every day. We are fortunate in that we also live with my mum so I do not have to get all the kids up and bring them with me.  So my day starts at 6am, when my alarm goes off and I keep pressing the snooze button until 6:30am mainly due to the fact that I am NOT a morning person. As soon as I do get up it is time to wake up the babies! First up, my 8 year old son. He usually wakes up pretty easily and I don't have to keep going back to get him out of bed. He is also the one who, when he feels helpful, gets the bowls out for breakfast along with the cereal.  Next is my 7 year old daughter. She can be a little tough to get up some mornings, but generally speaking she gets up within a few minutes of ...

Our Evening Routine

Hey everyone! So last week was our morning routine, this week is our evening routine! I will go from after school pick up because, like our morning routine, our evenings do tend to go fast as well. So after school, they have a small snack like a few Shapes biccies or some yoghurt or cheese depending on whether they had any dairy snacks in their lunch boxes that day. I do try to cook dinner or at least prep it (chop veggies etc.) before I go get the kids from school to make it easier on us during homework time. The kids have a bit of a run around after they eat to burn some energy off before they get their homework out. We have a fairly big backyard so there is plenty of space for them all to play. A favourite game of theirs lately, is Ninja Warrior. So they use things like the trees and the swing set and the trampoline and most important, their imaginations. After they have had about 15 to 20 minutes outside, they come in, have a drink of water and get their homework done. For...
