Our new Morning Routine!

Hey Guys!

It has been quite a while since I shared our morning routine and it has changed a fair bit recently, so I just thought I would share an updated version!

This is what a typical school day looks like in our home.

6am: My alarm goes off... Really? So not ready for today to happen... My motivation blend lives next to my bed for this reason... I get up and get ready for the day and make a move to get the kiddos up. The oldest one is almost always up and ready before I even get out of bed (hope she keeps this up!).

6:20am Breakfast time! The kids get their own breakfast out which is usually cereal of some sort, sometimes I am organised enough to have pancakes in the freezer for them to heat up, but today it is Weetbix Bites. TJ gets her Sustagen out and on her cereal on her own which I am very thankful she is willing to have that.

6:40am The kids have dragged the achor a bit with breakfast. It doesn't usually take them long to eat but they were very chatty today. Time to get teeth brushed and get dressed into their school uniforms! I keep them all on a rack in the hallway so they can see (and I can keep up with what days they need certain uniforms). This is also when oils get put on. InTune on the back of their necks, OnGuard on their feet and today a cough and cold blend on one of the kids. She has a bit of a cough so this is to nip it in the bud so she feels better quicker. This one goes on her spine as well as her feet.

7am This is when the bags get packed, lunches get made if not already done so. The kids usually have to make their own lunches the night before but sometimes things happen and they don't get done it's not a huge deal. They do know that if I have to make it in the morning, they get a vegemite sandwich and fruit with some crackers of some sort. The girls hair also gets done at this time as well and after that they can read or play quietly until we leave for school.

7:45am Time to leave for school! We don't live far away from the school so it only takes us a few minutes to get there but they like to get there early so they have time to see friends and settle into the school day. P.S They are supervised at all times at school when they get there early so that is not an issue. Usually I will stay there until they go into class anyway (I need time to catch up with my friends too!) so that I can talk with teachers when I need to.
If I stay at the school until they go to class, I am home by about 8:45am so that I can start my morning cleaning routine (more on this to come).

So there you have my typical morning routine!
If you have any questions or comments please leave them down below!

Thanks for reading!

Organising School Uniforms

Hey Guys! When it comes to storing and sorting the kid's school uniforms, it seems we have FINALLY found what works for us! For those who don't know, we have 4 kiddos and my mum works at the kid's school as well, so her uniforms are also stored with the kid's uniforms.  Right next to my desk in the kid's playroom (pretty much only has Lego in it at the moment) we have a clothes rack. The only things that get put on the rack is school uniforms, shoes, the hair box (this keeps all the brushes, hair ties, head bands, etc. together in one place) and school socks.  So here is an overview of what the uniform rack looks like and then I will talk about the sections. We'll talk about hanging the uniforms first! Each person has their own colour coat hanger to make it easier for them to recognise which uniforms are theirs.  BB has pink. Knox has blue. TJ has purple. Liss has white.  Mum has black.  Yes, they are all mixed up at ...

Our Family Morning Routine

So, since this is the very first blog post, I thought we could start with our regular school term morning routine.  Our Morning Routine Our mornings get really busy and tend to go real fast due to the fact that we are a one car family and I have to take my husband to work every day. We are fortunate in that we also live with my mum so I do not have to get all the kids up and bring them with me.  So my day starts at 6am, when my alarm goes off and I keep pressing the snooze button until 6:30am mainly due to the fact that I am NOT a morning person. As soon as I do get up it is time to wake up the babies! First up, my 8 year old son. He usually wakes up pretty easily and I don't have to keep going back to get him out of bed. He is also the one who, when he feels helpful, gets the bowls out for breakfast along with the cereal.  Next is my 7 year old daughter. She can be a little tough to get up some mornings, but generally speaking she gets up within a few minutes of ...

Our Evening Routine

Hey everyone! So last week was our morning routine, this week is our evening routine! I will go from after school pick up because, like our morning routine, our evenings do tend to go fast as well. So after school, they have a small snack like a few Shapes biccies or some yoghurt or cheese depending on whether they had any dairy snacks in their lunch boxes that day. I do try to cook dinner or at least prep it (chop veggies etc.) before I go get the kids from school to make it easier on us during homework time. The kids have a bit of a run around after they eat to burn some energy off before they get their homework out. We have a fairly big backyard so there is plenty of space for them all to play. A favourite game of theirs lately, is Ninja Warrior. So they use things like the trees and the swing set and the trampoline and most important, their imaginations. After they have had about 15 to 20 minutes outside, they come in, have a drink of water and get their homework done. For...
